CAPFISH Project Report: Summer Academy Southeast Asia
Over the past five years, CAPFISH has strengthened capacity to fight IUU fishing by providing training and educational materials to developing country administrations around the world, most recently with a two-week regional Summer Academy for Southeast Asia. This Academy ran for two weeks and included delegates from fisheries, maritime, labour, and enforcement agencies, maritime training and education institutions, regional fisheries bodies, and fisheries research institutes in Southeast Asia. Speakers comprised representatives of regional fisheries and environmental bodies, UN Specialised Agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, government agencies, and fisheries industry associations.
